Mandarin Oriental, Paris, France
The luxurious  Rue St. Honore  is the perfect address for Mandarin Oriental's  Parisian home.  Like so many hotel openings these days this one has been a long time a-coming.  However some things are worth waiting for. The good news is that Philippe Leboeuf, late of Claridges, London  has been appointed General Manager. The legendary Leboeuf has over 25 years of experience and was last in Paris as Managing Director  (then executive vice president) of the  flamboyant Hotel de Crillon.
Interiors are by Sybille de Margerie at SM Design. Born into the Taittinger family, a name synonymous with fine champagne, de Margerie brings  equal class to  interior design. Some would say Paris is her city; she has already worked on Hotel de Crillon, Westin Paris, Hotel Ambassador, Hotel  Letetia and Sofitel Belfort. Expect something lush and lavish but modern for the MO's 138 luxurious guestrooms and suites. Foodwise, chef Thierry Marx will bring his award-winning cuisine to the hotel with year-round al fresco dining in a large inner courtyard.

Meanwhile we are still waiting on the Mandarin Oriental Jnan Rahma Marrakech which featured in Sex and the City II  last year. Ru The official opening is now March 2011.
